The Functional Reflex Therapy (FRT) approach to Reflexology was originally developed for using with children and adults with autism, learning difficulties, neurological impairment, challenging behaviours, and complex health needs. It is also suitable for adults with dementia or Alzheimer‘s disease. FRT is a positive touch therapy using a combination of techniques drawn from Reflexology to encourage the body to relax and relieve tension. It is suitable for anyone experiencing stress and anxiety. The therapy utilises a ‘toolkit’ which acts as a communication aid and an object of reference to support both the giver and receiver with communication. Each kit is tailored to the individual's need.
Recieving regular FRT can help to
Encourage social interaction
Functional Reflex Therapy Workshops
Workshops are run for family members, friends, and primary careers to learn the Functional Reflex Therapy Rainbow Relaxation Routines for use in the home, at a time that is convenient to you.
The workshops are run over two 2 1/2 hour sessions, usually a week apart. You will learn about Functional Reflex Therapy and some of the pricipals used in Reflexology. There are two relaxation routines, one for the hands and the other for the feet. The FRT drawstring bag is included in the cost as well as plenty of hand outs to help you remember the routines. Groups are kept small to ensure the best learning experience.
